This post is all about how Tainted Love was originally written over 40 years ago and its still awesome enough to generate huge amounts of dollars for musicians and record execs..
"Tainted Love" is a song composed by Ed Cobb. It was originally recorded in 1964 by Gloria Jones and became a popular song on the Northern Soul scene. It attained worldwide fame after it was covered in 1981 (1982 in the US) by Soft Cell. It has since been covered by numerous other groups. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tainted_Love)
Here's some of the versions of it
I think this is the first Soft Cell Version from 1981.. note the comment on YouTube: "GAY... SO GAY... TOO GAY TO FUNCTION"
This is the remixed Soft Cell version.
Coil (1985) - This ones so awesome and creepy... coil are wizards i love the emotion in this video.. like with the AIDS and how fucked AIDS was in the 80s and with the dad being all weird out by his fag son having the gay plague. the angel of death character is the guy from soft cell.. watch out for powerful hidden occult symbols in this one. they may corrupt you.
Marilyn Manson 2001 - the chick in the hot tub is Chyler Leigh she was on Seventh Heaven
